Jock itch is a fungal infection that affects the moist skin on inner thighs and adjacent skin. This disease is associated with friction, abrasion, sweating and is mainly caused by the heat and moisture of the body clothes and by the direct rubbing of skin on skin. The body rashes can be found in the groin as well as any areas of skin that overlap. Heat, humidity, and tight clothing are the maor causes that lead to jock itch fungus. This disease is caused by fungi that live on the skin and the fungi usually grow in the moist area like the groin. The fungi group that is usually involved in the jock itch is called Tinea cruris but the infection can also spread through athletes foot or scalp fungal. These fungi is commonly known as ringworm as they cause rashes that has shape of a ring. Thus jock itch is quite similar to ringworm infection.
