Preparation is the key to waxing your snowboard in a timely fashion. So, before you can begin to wax your board, you first need to get all of your tools together. You can start by getting a work bench to place your board on. Alternatively, you can use two crates and place your board between them.

When waxing your snowboard, most of your effort we be directed towards scraping the excess wax from the board. Because of this, you need to make sure that the work area is at a comfortable height for you. Tools you will need include a scraper for getting rid of excess wax on the board, an iron to melt the wax, abrasive pads for getting rid of old wax and dirt, and polishing pads for smoothing out the wax and giving it a nice sheen. It also doesn’t hurt to have a drop cloth to make clean up of the old wax easier.
